"Stand-up comedy is a weird and difficult medium for artistic expression. The Discomfort Zone is where stand-up comedians go to make things even weirder and more difficult for themselves, telling stories instead of jokes. l In this show, Tampa Bay-based stand-up comedians Clark Brooks, Elijah Hernandez, Jeff Klein, Kaiti McCoy, Cara Millburg and Natasha Samreny will step out of their normal environment of set-ups, punchlines and (ideally) laughter into the realm of storytelling which consists of character, plot, setting, and tension. Let’s see what happens!"
May 11-24, 2023 - Screendoor Cinema, Tampa Fringe Festival
"Tampa News Force is bringing their live show, “Tampa News Force Live” to the 7th Annual Tampa International Fringe Festival in an exciting, new-but-traditional format: a late-night TV talk show.
The local creators of Tampa Bay-centric satire and parody will put on a show after the fashion of “The Tonight Show” (when it was good) and other staples of a soon-to-be bygone era. “Tampa News Force Live” will feature co-hosts Josh Santos and Clark Brooks, music, comedy, special guests and some surprises, all presented in front of live “studio” audiences. Among the special guest performers will be local burlesque superstar Katie James as Miss TNF."
December 16, 2023 - Screendoor Cinema, Whinge Festival
"Another performer in the mix for our inaugural Whinge! fest is Clark Brooks who will be trying out doing a solo storytelling show for the first time! Here's an apropos image for his show"
May 8-15, 2024 - The Cage, Tampa Fringe Festival
“Trivia Only I Know is a combination of trivia night and storytelling, in which the audience competes for fabulous prizes, trying to answer questions about the host and his personal life experiences."
December 14-15, Fringe Theatre 2, Whinge Festival
"Clark Brooks: A comedian you’ve never heard of who doesn’t deserve his own TV special still has stories about what it’s taken to get this far, even if that isn’t very far."
Details coming January 13, 2025!
